- 2. Add the oats, cinnamon, and salt. Cook for about 5 minutes. Set aside.
- 3. Place the chocolate chips and peanut in a microwave safe dish and microwave in increments of 1 minute until melted and mixed well.
- 4. Place half the oatmeal mixture in the prepared pan. Spread half the peanut butter chocolate mixture over top. Top with the remaining oatmeal mixture then the remaining chocolate mixture.
- 5. Refrigerate for 4 hours until hardened. Cut into squares.
Tips:
- Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your oatmeal bars will be.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing will make the oatmeal bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the oatmeal bars until they are set in the center: A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Let the oatmeal bars cool completely before cutting them: This will help them to hold together better.
- Store the oatmeal bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Conclusion:
These chocolate peanut butter oatmeal bars are a delicious and healthy snack or breakfast option. They're easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Try adding different nuts, seeds, or dried fruit to the batter. You can also drizzle them with melted chocolate or peanut butter before serving. No matter how you choose to make them, these oatmeal bars are sure to be a hit!
