Tips:

  • Measure Accurately: Baking is a precise science, so it's important to measure your ingredients accurately. Use measuring cups and spoons that are specifically designed for baking.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your cake will taste. If possible, use organic or locally sourced ingredients.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter can make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake at the Right Temperature: The baking temperature will vary depending on the recipe. Make sure you preheat your oven to the correct temperature before baking the cake.
  • Don't Open the Oven Door: Opening the oven door during baking can cause the cake to fall. Resist the temptation to peek until the cake is almost done.
  • Let the Cake Cool Completely: Before you frost or decorate the cake, let it cool completely. This will help prevent the frosting from melting and the cake from crumbling.
