Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples and pears for a more complex flavor. Some good options include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn apples, and Bartlett and Bosc pears.
  • Peel and core the apples and pears before slicing them. This will help the fruit cook evenly and prevent the pie from becoming too mushy.
  • Toss the fruit with sugar, flour, and spices before adding it to the pie crust. This will help thicken the filling and prevent it from being too runny.
  • Dot the top of the pie with butter before baking. This will help the crust brown and give the pie a rich flavor.
  • Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. This usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will help the filling set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Cranberry, apple, and pear pie is a delicious and classic fall dessert. It's easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a flaky crust, sweet and tart filling, and a dollop of whipped cream, this pie is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
