1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 cup dried cranberries
6 large eggs
1-1/2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 loaf (1 pound) challah or egg bread, cut into 1-inch slices

Steps:

  • Mix first four ingredients and 2 teaspoons cinnamon; toss with apples and cranberries. Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking dish., In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla and remaining cinnamon. Dip bread in egg mixture to moisten; place over fruit, overlapping or trimming slices to fit. Pour remaining egg mixture over bread. Refrigerate, covered, overnight., Preheat oven to 375°. 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, cubed
1 can (14 ounces) whole-berry cranberry sauce
12 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups 2% milk
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Dash ground nutmeg
Additional maple syrup, optional

Steps:

  • Arrange half the bread in a single layer in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish; top with cream cheese and spoonfuls of cranberry sauce. Top with remaining bread., In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, 1/3 cup syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg until blended. Pour over casserole. 1/2 stick butter
4 eggs
1/2 cup whole milk

Steps:

  • Slice challah bread into thick pieces. Combine cream cheese, sugar, fresh cranberries together. Cut a pocket into the bread and stuff cream cheese mixture inside. 1 cup Splenda brown sugar blend (may sub. brown sugar if you don't like sugar substitute)
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine, melted
3 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
3 -4 apples, cored and thinly sliced (braeburn or other tart type)
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
1 1/2 cups egg substitute
1 1/2 cups milk (I use 1%)
1 tablespoon vanilla
powdered sugar (optional) or whipped cream (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine brown sugar, butter and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a 9x13 baking dish. Add apples and cranberries. Toss to coat well. Spread evenly in pan.
  • Arrange slices of bread atop apple mixture.
  • Mix egg substitute, milk, vanilla and remaining cinnamon until well blended.
  • Pour egg mixture over bread, soaking it completely.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 1-2 hrs if not made ahead).
  • When ready to bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
  • Uncover an bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let stand for approximately 5 minutes.
  • Serve warm with powdered sugar, whipped cream to taste (We prefer a very light dusting of powdered sugar for the kids and plain for the adults).

8 slice french bread
4 large eggs
1/2 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp freshly-squeezed orange juice
zest of one orange
butter for the pan
FOR FILLING:
4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
4 Tbsp powdered sugar
6 Tbsp cranberry sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Heat a griddle pan over medium heat. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, orange zest and juice together in a shallow dish.
  • 2. Grease pan with butter. Take a slice of french bread and coat on both sides with egg batter and place directly into hot pan. Repeat with other slices.
  • 3. Cook french toast until golden brown on both sides and cooked completely through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • 4. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together. Carefully fold in cranberry sauce.
  • 5. To assemble, take one slice of hot french toast and spread a layer of filling inside. Top with another slice. Cut stuffed french toast carefully on the diagonal (filling will ooze out) and set on serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with maple syrup and butter.
