1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups chopped dates

Confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, dates and nuts. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup cold butter, cubed
3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Vanilla ice cream, optional

½ cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 eggs

¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup confectioners' sugar

Steps:
