Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pkg oreo cookies
2 pkg vanilla instant pudding
3 c milk
16 oz cool whip
1 c confectioners' sugar
8 oz cream cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Place the Oreos in a plastic bag and crush them. The easiest way to crush a large amount of Oreos at one time is to put them in a gallon size plastic bag and crush them by using a rolling pin. Mix the vanilla instant pudding, milk, cool whip and cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add the confectioner's sugar until well blended.
  • 2. Place a layer of crushed Oreos on the bottom of the cake pan. Then alternate layers of the cream cheese mixture and Oreos. Sprinkle Oreos on top for garnish.

Tips:

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate Oreos.
  • If you don't have a springform pan, you can use a 9x13 inch baking dish. Just be sure to press the Oreo mixture firmly into the pan so that it forms a solid crust.
  • To make the pudding mix ahead of time, whisk together the pudding mix, sugar, and milk in a medium bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.
  • For a lighter and fluffier mousse, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks before folding it into the pudding mixture.
  • To make the whipped cream topping, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.
  • For a more decadent topping, use chocolate ganache instead of whipped cream. To make chocolate ganache, melt 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of heavy cream together in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir until smooth and then pour over the cake.
  • Chill the cake for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the cake to set properly.

Conclusion:

Oreo Dirt Cake is a classic dessert that is always a hit with kids and adults alike. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With its rich chocolate flavor, creamy pudding filling, and fluffy whipped cream topping, Oreo Dirt Cake is sure to be a favorite at your next party or gathering.
