Tips:

  • Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor, use fresh peas, celery, and carrots. Look for peas that are plump and green, and avoid any that are wrinkled or discolored.
  • Cucumbers: If you don't have cucumbers, you can substitute another crunchy vegetable, such as radishes or jicama.
  • Peanuts: For a crunchy texture, use dry-roasted peanuts. If you only have salted peanuts, be sure to rinse them off before using.
  • Peanut Butter: Be sure to use creamy peanut butter for a smooth and creamy dressing.
  • Vinegar: Rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar can be used in the dressing. Rice vinegar has a milder flavor, while apple cider vinegar has a more tart flavor.
  • Chill Before Serving: For the best flavor, chill the pea salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
