2 to 3 tablespoons strawberry fruit spread or jam

5 large egg whites, room temperature
2 cups pureed strawberries
1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 teaspoon salt
FROSTING:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
3-1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup pureed strawberries

Red food coloring, optional
1 cup seedless strawberry jam, divided
Halved fresh strawberries, optional

1 sheet puff pastry
4 tablespoons jam
4 tablespoons cream cheese
icing sugar, to serve

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 220°C.
  • Cut pastry into 4 squares and place on a baking sheet lined with non-stick baking paper.
  • Place a quarter of jam and quarter of cream cheese into centre of each piece of pastry. Don't overfill or it will leak out during cooking.
