SUPER SOFT SUGAR COOKIES

I got this recipe from the teacher I student taught with. These cookies are so amazingly soft. They aren't too sweet, which I prefer. Great holiday staple.

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c butter
2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 c sour cream
2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
5 1/2 c flour

Steps:

  • 1. Cream butter and sugar in mixer. Beat in eggs, vanilla, sour cream, soda, salt. Scrape sides and make sure well blended. Add flour a cup at a time, mixing well. Chill 20 minutes.
  • 2. Roll out and cut into shapes. Only roll out dough 3 times, more than that and the dough becomes tough. Bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes until very light brown. Cool completely.

Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients: This will help the ingredients blend together more easily and create a smoother dough.
  • Chill the dough before baking: This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies at a high temperature for a short amount of time: This will help the cookies develop a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing can make the cookies tough.
  • Use a cookie scoop to ensure uniform cookies: This will help the cookies bake evenly and look more professional.
  • Be creative with your toppings: You can add sprinkles, chocolate chips, nuts, or other ingredients to the top of the cookies before baking.

Conclusion:

These super soft sugar cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a batch of cookies that will be enjoyed by people of all ages. So what are you waiting for?
