Time 30m

Yield 1 11x17 pan of brownies, 48 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup water
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 dash salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
4 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup butter
6 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Brownie: Preheat oven to 400°; grease an 11" x 17" jelly roll pan.

Tips for Making Perfect Texas Brownies:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. This is the most important ingredient in brownies, so don't skimp. Use a good-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the brownies tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies in a preheated oven. This will help to ensure that they bake evenly.
  • Don't overbake the brownies. Overbaked brownies will be dry and crumbly. Bake them just until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Texas brownies are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With their rich chocolate flavor and chewy texture, they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give Texas brownies a try. You won't be disappointed!
