TURTLE COOKIES

A recipe I got from a Gooseberry Patch cookbook, contributed by Cheri Emery, using a cake mix. It's posted as written, but I used 5 pecan halves to give them 4 legs and a head!:) I also added a rolo inside each so when you bite into them you get caramel too! It's important the dough is completely covering the rolo or it will seep out!

Tips:

  • Use room temperature butter: This will make the dough easier to work with and will help the cookies spread evenly in the oven.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Otherwise, the cookies will be tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: The centers should be slightly soft. If you overbake them, they will be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them: This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

Turtles cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With a few simple tips, you can make sure that your turtles cookies turn out perfect every time. So next time you're looking for a sweet snack, give these turtles cookies a try! You won't be disappointed.
