CALICO CHICKEN image

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 whole chicken breasts, split
2 TBL shortening
1 can cream of chicken mushroom soup
1 can (8 oz) mixed vegetables, drained
1/3 c milk
1/4 tsp thyme leaves, crushed
1 TBL chopped parsley

Steps:

  • In skillet, brown chicken in shortening. Pour off fat. Stir in soup, milk, thyme. Cover and simmer 30 min or until done. Stir occasionally. Add vegetables and parsley. Heat through. Serve with rice.

I've made this recipe several times now, and it's always a hit. It's easy to make and the flavors are amazing. I love that I can use whatever vegetables I have on hand.

This dish was a disappointment. The chicken was dry and tough, and the sauce was bland. I would not recommend this recipe.
