Steps:
- Cream butter, sugar and eggs by beating together until fluffy and light in color. Set aside. In separate bow, beat together banana purée, buttermilk and vanilla until well mixed. Set aside. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to purée alternately with egg mixture, beating each time until well blended. Pour into buttered and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees until wood pick inserted in center comes out clean, 40 to 50 minutes. Cool thoroughly in pan. Frost with desired frosting and serve.
