HONEY PORK ORIENTAL image

Another great recipe from my 1987 "Favorite Recipe" cookbook. This dish is good served over rice.

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 lb pork shoulder steaks
2 Tbsp oil
1 envelope brown gravy mix
3/4 c water
1/4 c honey
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp wine vinegar
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp garlic salt
4 carrots, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, cut into wedges
1 green pepper, cut into strips

Steps:

  • 1. Cut pork into 1" pieces. In small bowl, combine gravy mix, water, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, and garlic salt. Set aside. Brown pork in oil in wok or large skillet. Add gravy mixture to pork; cover. Lower heat; cook 20 minutes. Add carrots; cook 10 minutes. Add onion & green pepper; cook 5 to 10 minutes more.
