Steps:
- preheat oven to 350 Mix butter and sugar until just combined. Add vanilla. Add flour and salt and mix until dough starts to come together. Dump onto a floured surface and shape into a flat disk. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 for 10-15 mins, until the edges begin to brown
