Time 20m

Yield 24 bars, 24 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
2 cups crispy rice cereal
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
2 cups M&M's plain chocolate candy

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, bring corn syrup and sugar to a boil.
  • Add in peanut butter and vanilla.
  • Pour over cereal mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread in 13x9 pan for thick bars or a 11x14 pan for thinner.
  • Let cool and cut into bars.

Tips:

  • Choose the right peanut butter. Not all peanut butters are created equal. For the best results, use a natural peanut butter that is made with just peanuts and salt. Avoid peanut butters that contain added sugar, oils, or preservatives.
  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher the ingredients, the better your snack bars will taste. Use ripe bananas, fresh honey, and pure vanilla extract.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the snack bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Bake the snack bars at the right temperature. The snack bars should be baked at a moderate temperature so that they have a chance to set without overcooking. Bake them for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the snack bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to hold their shape and prevent them from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Peanut butter snack bars are a delicious and healthy snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like them chewy or crunchy, sweet or salty, there is a peanut butter snack bar recipe out there for you.
