Number Of Ingredients 8

1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter
4 ounces (4 squares) unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 scant cup walnuts, broken into large pieces, optional

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F, and position a rack in the middle of the oven.
  • 2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Turn off the heat, add the chocolate, and stir occasionally until melted and combined. Set aside and cool slightly.

1 c butter
3/4 c cocoa, unsweetened
2-1/4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
3 large eggs
1-1/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 c chopped nuts ( i use walnuts)
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 Degrees. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Stir in cocoa; blend until smooth. remove from heat and cool slightly. Add sugar, vanilla, salt, and eggs. Beat thoroughly. Add flour and baking powder. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Batter will be stiff. Spread it evenly in prepared pan.
