2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 large eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour a 10-inch (3-quart) bundt pan, knocking out excess.

  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy for a tender, moist cake.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Sift the flour and baking powder together to ensure even distribution and prevent lumps.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three additions, alternating with milk.
  • Do not overmix the batter, as this can result in a tough cake.
